CU Tv as Art & Girl with a Pearl Earring Discussion

This week we will be evaluating Television as art and before you chose a show for your analysis I would like to be sure that you are selecting a work that would be considered critical viewing.  You can determine this by asking yourself a few questions:

Is the style of the program unique?

Do the characters have complex inner lives

Are the actions on screen relevant to the times?

Is the integrity of the audience respected?

Does the action follow the laws of probability?

Are the depictions of gender roles realistic and equal

Initial Post InstructionsMany people would say that the 1999 premier of The Sopranos was a turning point in the development of television as an art form. Choose a television or streaming show that you feel perpetuates the idea that television is indeed a form of art.
